Amsonia hubrichtii bears small, pale blue, star-shaped flowers above very fine, narrow foliage in summer. It can take time to establish, but develops into substantial clumps, with the foliage turning glowing shades of yellow and red in autumn.
Much sought after by designers for its delicate flowers, feathery foliage and interest across the seasons, it can be planted in groups for impact or used as an individual specimen towards the front of a mixed border. It grows well in sun or partial shade and tolerates drier soils.
